Tuesday English Country Dance

Ann Arbor's Tuesday English country dance welcomes beginners and experienced dancers. We offer live music, friendly informal instruction, an intimate acoustic setting, a wood floor, and a wonderful community of dancers. It’s great fun.

Every Tuesday night at Chapel Hill Condominium Clubhouse.
7 – 9:30 pm
Adults: $7, students: $4, supervised children under 14 with parent: free.

West on Plymouth Rd (from US23) to Green Rd (next light), north on Green past the US Post Office to Burbank. Right on Burbank and find parking on the street (look for the "clubhouse parking only" signs). The clubhouse is at the end of the second driveway on the left (counting from Green Rd.).

Newcomers, please come at 7 pm and get started learning basic vocabulary and easier dances.Come by yourself or bring a friend. Wear comfortable clothes and flat, flexible-soled shoes with a little grip. Children are welcome.

What is English country dancing? It started in England about the time of Elizabeth I and peaked in Jane Austen’s era. Dancers today enjoy wonderful tunes, a nearly limitless repertoire, and variety from lively to elegant and in-between. No complicated steps; if you can walk, you can dance. All dances are taught first and prompted as they go.
